Zahidi Dates

Zahidi dates, also known as Zehedi or Zehidi dates, are a popular variety of dates that are native to Iran. They are one of the most common types of dates found in Iran and are also widely consumed in other parts of the world.

In Pakistan, these dates are known as Irani Dates.

Appearance and Flavor:

Zahidi dates are typically medium-sized, with a light brown to golden-yellow color. They have a firm texture and are known for their sweet and slightly nutty flavor. Unlike some other types of dates, Zahidi dates are not particularly sticky or juicy, which makes them easy to handle and store.

Cultivation:

Zahidi dates are primarily grown in the southern regions of Iran, particularly in the province of Bushehr. They are also cultivated in other parts of the Middle East and Baluchistan province of Pakistan. This unique variety of dates is widely considered to be the best in terms of flavor and quality.

Zahidi Date Harvesting:

Zahidi dates are harvested in late summer and early autumn, usually in September or October. The harvesting process is typically done by hand, with workers carefully picking each individual date from the palm trees. The dates are then sorted and packaged for distribution.
